Heavy rains force officials to postpone services and shutter government offices
BELLAIRE, TX — It's happened again: flooding caused by heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc on the Houston area, resulting in service disruptions and the closure of schools and offices.
Bellaire officials have postponed garbage and recycling services until tomorrow, and have closed city hall, municipal courts, and the library. In addition, the recreation center was closed.
Sunny skies have returned, but a band of rain is expected to pass through the area around noon today, which could result in more flooding.
