Convicted Sex Offender Accused Of Luring Teen Girls For Sex
Byron Garrick, 52, is accused of offering middle school girls $20 for sex while waiting at a METRO bus stop.
HOUSTON — A man is in the Harris County Jail after he allegedly offered two middle school girls money for sex, police said. Byron Garrick, 52, was charged with criminal solicitation of a minor and remains in the Harris County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
The incident happened on Feb. 6 at the METRO Kashmere Transit Center in the 5900 block of Hirsch Road.
Police said a METRO bus driver said she saw a group of middle school children yelling at Garrick who was wearing an ankle monitor.

The bus driver said she heard one of the girls tell Garrick: “I told you I am just a kid, and I am going to tell my mamma,” according to a KPRC report.
A boy who was with the group of kids told the bus driver Garrick offered the girls $20 for sex.

Police said Garrick tried to lure the kids by tossing money towaard them. The bus driver reported the incident to METRO Police.
The police located the children, who identified Garrick in a photo line up. According to police, Garrick was on parole and had previous convictions for child indecency, KTRK reported.
