Police were responding to a welfare check when they found 66-year-old Elaine Richman dead in her back yard.

HOUSTON — A woman whose body was found in the back yard of her west Houston home was covered in dog bites, investigators said. Houston police were responding to a welfare concern on Susanna Lane near Dairy Ashford in west Houston, and found the body of a 66-year-old Elaine Richman.

The discovery was made Friday morning, but police hadn’t released any information related to Richman's death until Monday.

Witnesses said Richman hadn't been seen at her dog training class since Wednesday.
