Dog Racing Comes Back to Houston
An agreement between track owners and dog breeders allows dog racing to resume in Texas.

La Marque, TX -- And they're off. An agreement hammered out between dog breeders and track owners allows live dog racing to return to Texas. Although the agreement abbreviate the racing season for Texas' two dog tracks, it allows them both to host races in the next two years.
Racing will resume at the Valley Race Park on November 25. The park will hold a 36-day, live greyhound race meet. Races will be on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through February 2017.

It will be the first live race meet held at Valley Race Park since 2013, and the first extended meet at the track since 2009. After Valley Race Park concludes the meet, racing will move to Gulf Greyhound Park in La Marque for a November 2017 to February 2018 season.
