1. Houston has the second-highest share of homes over $1 million in Texas. 2.4% of Houston homes are worth $1 million or more, according to LendingTree. The median home price in Houston recently hit around $400,000. (CultureMap Houston)
2. An investigation is underway after a woman in west Houston was shot in the head while walking to her car Saturday morning. The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot of La Quinta Inn at 15225 Katy Freeway. (KHOU 11)
3. A man is expected to survive after being hit by a Houston Police Department officer completing his shift on Friday evening. The officer allegedly looked down at his computer as he was driving before striking a middle-aged man on Harrisburg near 77th Street in East End. (ABC 13)
4. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said a suspect was shot and killed by a county sergeant on Friday afternoon. According to Gonzalez, deputies were called to a Dollar General in the 2000 block of FM 1960 in response to a shoplifting in progress. (Click2Houston)
5. The new Omicron subvariant, BA.5, is now dominant in both Houston and the United States. The 14-day test positivity rate for Harris County now stands at 27.2%. Doctors say the new subvariant is the most contagious form of COVID-19 we’ve seen yet. (Click2Houston)
