HOUSTON — A woman accused of running over and killing a motorcyclist who’d hit two cars and fled the scene of the accident has been charged with manslaughter, according to the Houston Police Department.

The deadly crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. at Voss Road and San Felipe. According to police, the driver of the motorcycle was splitting lanes and hit two cars near Westheimer and Voss and then fled the scene.

The drivers of both cars pulled into the parking to assess damages when the drivers saw the woman on the motorcycle drive past them. One of the drivers, identified as Julivan Do Tran told police she began following the woman.

During the pursuit, the woman on the motorcycle slowed down, and Tran stopped and tried to flag her down, but she refused to stop and drove around the car, according to a KPRC report.

Tran followed the motorcycle behind a nearby Kroger store, where the motorcycle apparently lost control and crashed, officials said.

When the woman on the motorcycle fell, police said Tran allegedly hit the woman and the motorcycle.

The woman was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead. Tran who allegedly chased the motorcycle stayed on the scene and gave police a statement.

Tran was administered a field sobriety test and was not intoxicated, according to police.
