Driver In Deadly SH-99 Crash Facing Manslaughter Charges

Charles Glaze, who was out on bail on a different charge out of Montgomery County, could be charged with 2 counts of manslaughter.

HOUSTON — A 54-year-old man who caused a horrific crash on the Grand Parkway that killed two people and injured five others in December is facing two felony counts for manslaughter, officials said.

Charles Glaze, who was out on bail on a different charge out of Montgomery County, was apparently leaving a visit with his parole officer Dec. 12, 2018, officials said.

Glaze was entering the westbound lane of the Grand Parkway at FM 2920 when he somehow lost control of his Ford F-150 pickup.

Witnesses told investigators that Glaze drifted off the road and hit a concrete barrier, and possibly over corrected, which caused his vehicle to cross the median and become airborne when his vehicle hit the metal cable guardrail in the median.

Glaze’s F-150 was traveling at the 75-mile per hour speed limit when it sheared off the top of Linda Fuggiti’s BMW, killing her instantly, and crashing head-on into a Chevy HHR, killing 73-year-old Michael Brown, who was behind the wheel.

Brown’s wife, Charlotte, suffered broken bones in the crash. Glaze, who was slightly injured in the crash, said he did not recall the events leading up to the crash and told investigators he had a history of seizures.
