Ex-Cop Who Threw Teen to Ground Won't Be Charged

A former McKinney, Texas, police officer who was videotaped throwing a black teenager to the ground will not be charged.

McKinney, TX — A former police officer who was videotaped throwing a 15-year-old teenager to the ground at a June 2015 pool party will not face charges.

The AP is reporting that a Collin County grand jury declined to indict Eric Casebolt. In a widely circulated cell phone video, Casebolt, who is white, can be seen chasing after black teenagers and ordering them to the ground.

He then forces the girl onto her stomach and puts his knee in her back. At one point Casebolt drew his sidearm after two young black men charged toward him, apparently to protest the girl's treatment, but he holstered the weapon when backup arrived.

McKinney police officers were responding to reports that the teens, who were celebrating an end-of-school party at the pool, were acting unruly and that teens who weren't authorized to be in the pool were jumping a fence to get inside.
