FEMA Extends Deadline for Disaster Aid

FEMA has extended the deadline to apply for assistance for damage from flooding that occurred between April and April 30.

Houston, TX -- FEMA has extended the deadline for area residents to apply for disaster assistance for recent flooding to July 29. The extension only applies to damage from the April 17-30 floods.

Along with more time to submit disaster assistance applications, residents of three additional counties are eligible to receive aid. Residents of Anderson, Cherokee, Smith and Wood counties are now eligible for disaster assistance and are encouraged to register with FEMA.

Disaster assistance remains available to residents of Austin, Colorado, Fayette, Fort Bend, Grimes, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, Parker, San Jacinto, Waller, and Wharton counties.
