Flood Warning In Effect in Harris and Fort Bend Counties Until 4:15 P.M.

Officials urge caution on roadways as scattered storms move back into Houston area this afternoon.

HOUSTON, TX — The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for portions of Harris, Fort Bend, and Wharton counties and officials are urging resident to use caution when driving. The warning expires at 4:15 p.m.

Rains were expected to begin again this afternoon after a respite from the storms that hit the Houston area early this morning.

In related news, Houston Independent School District officials announced that most after-school activities and been canceled today, and that the absences of students who missed classes because of the storms would be excused.
