Galveston to Houston Bus Line Up for Funding

A Galveston to Houston bus line is being considered by the Texas Department of Transportation.

Galveston, TX -- The Texas Transportation Commission will vote on funding a Galveston to Houston bus line. The proposed line will require $120,000 in state funds and allow riders to transfer to Houston's public transportation system.

If funded, the line is expected to have stops on Galveston Island, in Texas City and at the Bay Area park and ride. The bus line would be the first public transportation route to connect Houston and Galveston in 80 years.
