Grandfather, 68, Dies While His SUV Is Being Repossessed
Alberto Nduli fell from the hood of his SUV and hit his head on the concrete while a tow truck driver was repossessing his SUV, police said.
HOUSTON -- A tow truck driver is being charged with failing to stop and render aid after witnesses said he left a 68-year-old man lying injured in the street after the man tried to stop him from repossessing his SUV.
The accident happened at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday in the 7400 block of South Gessner at Triola.
Witnesses said a neighbor knocked on the door and alerted Alberto Nduli that his SUV was being towed from his apartment.
Nduli, who worked as a security guard and was a father and grandfather, ran outside to confront the tow truck driver.

Police said Nduli tried to stop him, and jumped on the hood of the SUV as it was being towed. Nduli fell off the hood of the vehicle and hit his head on the pavement, and died at the scene, police said.
The tow truck driver drove away with the SUV, and dropped it off at a storage facility and was called back to the scene by police, officials said.

Sean Teare, who heads up the Harris County DA’s vehicular crimes division, said the tow truck driver, who has not been identified, is facing charges for failing to stop and render aid in the very least, but that additional charges could be considered.
