Grandmother Gunned Down In Her Driveway: Police
Leticia Martinez, 52, enjoyed a night with friends and family beforeba stranger brutally murdered her in her driveway.
HOUSTON — Leticia Martinez was just coming home from a visit with friends, but she never made it through the front door of her home.
The 52-year-old grandmother was gunned down in her driveway Wednesday night by a man who confronted her on her driveway. The shooting happened at about 9:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Harbor Drive in northeast Houston.
Investigators said the woman, who was in her 50s, had just arrived home when a man pulled up in front of the house and confronted her, before shooting the woman three times and fleeing the scene.

The entire incident was captured on video surveillance from a business across the street, and police are examining that footage to try and determine the shooter’s identity.
Police said Martinez's husband and grandson were in the home at the time of the shooting but were unable to get to her in time.

Martinez was a school aide and volunteer at Raul C. Martinez Elementary School in the Houston Independent School District. District officials said crisis counselors will be at the campus.
