Gun-Toting Granny Shoots Masturbating Bicyclist

HOUSTON, TX – A 68-year-old grandma shot a wounded a man who exposed himself to her and tried to break into her home, according to police. The man was riding his bicycle and masturbating in the 6600 block of Cherrydale Street at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Police said the woman came outside to take out her trash and saw the man coming toward her touching himself. The woman said she was concerned for her 14-year-old granddaughter who was in the home. She warned the man to stay away and that she had a gun.

He ignored her and kept coming toward her, so she shut and locked the door, and then grabbed her pistol. The man tried forcing his way into the home, so the woman said she fired her pistol through the door and hit the man once in the chest. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition and is expected to survive.

Police said the man, who was out of jail on a previous indecent exposure charge, was arrested last week for running naked up and down a busy street.

The woman's 14-year-old granddaughter who was inside the home at the time, did not see the incident, police said.
