Houston And Harris County Offices Closed On MLK Day
In observance of MLK Jr's birthday, state and local offices in Houston and Harris County will be closed on Monday.

HOUSTON — Monday makes the day that many in the U.S. celebrate the birth of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
The observance of the slain civil rights leader’s birthday as a national holiday was signed into law in 1983, but wasn’t officially observed by most states until 1991.
In the Houston area, it has been observed in the black community for decades. In observance of MLK Jr's birthday, state and local offices in Houston and Harris County will be closed on Monday.

- Houston City Hall
- City of Humble
- City of Baytown
- City of Channelview
- City of Galena Park
- City of Tomball
- City of Bellaire
- City of Pasadena
- Harris County offices
U.S. mail services and all federal offices will be closed on Monday. Trash collection will vary in some areas of the county.
