Houston Offers Free Help With US Citizenship Applications
The first 75 in line will receive free one-on-one help with their application for U.S. citizenship, as well as a free consultation.

HOUSTON — The City of Houston is opening the door to help legal immigrants to the become legal U.S. citizens. The city’s Department of Neighborhoods will host a free information forum to the first 75 people who show up on Saturday, Jan. 26 between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
The event, which is offered in partnership with BakerRipley, Noticias 45 Houston, 106.5 Amor, NALEO Educational Fund, and New Americans, will take place at the BakerRiplely East Aldine Campus located at 3000 Aldine Mail Route Road in Houston.
The first 75 in line will receive free one-on-one help with their application for U.S. citizenship, as well as a free consultation with an immigration attorney.
Legal U.S. residents should bring the following documents:

- US Residents card or green card, drivers license, passport, and social security card
- Personal work history (at least 5 years)
- Marital history (marriage license/divorce decree)
- Children’s information: names, ages, date and place of birth, immigration status
- Travel history: Trips taken over last five years.
- Arrest records: If you have been arrested you will need to speak with an immigration attorney.
Once the application is completed, legal immigrants will need to provide a check or money border of $725 and two passport photos to the Department of Homeland Security.
