Houston Restaurant Owner Shoots Two Suspected Robbers, Killing One
Proprietor of J&S Jeff's Kitchen encountered men as he was leaving establishment's rear entrance.

HOUSTON, TX — The owner of J&S Jeff's Kitchen defended himself against two suspected robbers on Saturday night around 10:50 as he was leaving his restaurant's rear entrance, according to police officials.
One of the suspects was killed, and the other escaped and is on the loose. The two men appear to have been hiding behind a trash bin.
"The complainant, who had a firearm himself, was able to fire in defense of himself and his property and struck that male who died at the hospital," Houston Police Department homicide investigator T. R. Jackson told the Houston Chronicle.

The restaurant, which has been in business since 1976, is located at 8312 Mesa Road.
The identities of the deceased man and the other alleged robber have not been released. No charges were expected to be filed against the owner of the restaurant, who according to the Chronicle had been robbed in the past.
