HOUSTON — A different type of coffee shop is slated to open in Houston's trendy east side this summer, but this cup of java will have you chilling instead of feeling jumpy.
The Amsterdam Co. CoffeeBar will serve up their coffees, lattes, teas, and smoothies all lace with cannabis-derived CBD. The cool concoction, which has barely a trace of the THC found in marijuana, may help take the edge off and leave you with a peaceful easy feeling.
Some swear by the so-called medicinal benefits of CBD, including easing anxiety, relieving seizures associated with epilepsy, helping with insomnia and as well as other ailments.

However, CBD's are not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, and are frowned upon by federal law enforcement agencies and lawmakers here, according to a report in the Austin American-Statesman.
Although somewhat trendy, fun, and maybe even relaxing, sipping these infused elixirs won't impair driving, make you all giggly and goofy, or give you the munchies.
