1. Bad Astronaut Brewing Company will debut in the Hardy Yards neighborhood at 1519 Fulton St. in a 30,000-square-foot converted warehouse. Owners Chris Fall and Craig "Rocky" Keener describe themselves in a release as "very early employees" of well-known Karbach Brewing. (CultureMap Houston)
2. A Houston police officer shot and killed a suspect in the Sharpstown area of southwest Houston on Wednesday, according to the Houston Police Department. It happened around 11:30 a.m. in the 6700 block of Langdon Lane, near Albatross Drive. (KHOU 11)
3. The Harris County Sports and Convention Corporation and NRG Park named Bishop James Dixon as its chairman of the board on Wednesday. Dixon has been on the board of HCSCC since 2018 and is following Edgar Colon, Chairman of the Board, HCSCC, 2008-2022. (Click2Houston)
4. Homicide investigators on Wednesday began searching the area around a drainage ditch in southeast Harris County where a dead body was found. The scene was off Beamer Road near Scarsdale Boulevard. (KHOU 11)
5. Thirty-five years ago this month Houston's iconic Shamrock Hotel was demolished. The hotel opened on St. Patrick's Day 1949 with celebrities and movie stars flown in for the event. It was the brainchild of oil magnate Glenn McCarthy. (Houston Public Media)

- Lazy Dog, an American-style casual food and drink restaurant chain is reportedly shooting for a July 6 opening. (Community Impact News)
- A suspect was shot and killed by an employee after attempting to rob two businesses, including a gun shop on Tuesday, according to the Houston Police Department. It happened at around 3:17 p.m. at Carter’s Country, located in the 11800 block of South Wilcrestt Drive and Southwest Freeway. (Click2Houston)
