HPD Allowing Officers to Ride in Pairs
In the wake of the Dallas shooting the Houston Police Department has authorized officers to ride in pairs if they feel unsafe.

Houston, TX -- In the wake of the Dallas shooting some local law enforcement agencies are allowing officers and deputies to ride in pairs for additional safety.
Interim Houston Police Chief Martha Montalvano authorized officers to ride in pairs so they aren't alone when they respond to calls. The Houston Police Officers Union is also urging officers to wear their bullet proofs and to call for back-up if they don't feel safe.
The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office has also authorized deputies to patrol in pairs.
