League City DWI Tech Fired, Dozens of Cases at Risk
The firing of a League City breathalyzer technician has placed dozens of cases across the area at risk.

League City, TX -- The firing of Nellie Martinez, a breathalyzer technician, by the League City Police Department has placed dozens of DWI cases across nine police departments at risk.
Martinez was let go after LCPD determined her work to be so bad that it could "jeopardize the integrity of the entire [DWI] program," according to a report from KTRK.
Part of the reason why Martinez's firing is such a problem is that several local law enforcement agencies contracted with League City for breathalyzer services.

Although LCPD was aware of problems with Martinez's work in 2014 nothing was done about it. The League City Police Department and the League City government have made no official statement about Martinez's firing on their respective websites or social media accounts.
