League City PD Host Food Drive
The League City Police Department is hosting a food drive for the Galveston County Food Bank.

League City, TX -- For children that rely on the free or reduced lunch program, summers can be a difficult time with many going hungry. All too often children that rely on schools to provide breakfast and lunch struggle with food security and have a hard time getting their nutritional needs met.
To help address this problem, the League City Police Department is hosting a kick-off event for the Galveston County Food Bank’s campaign “School’s Out, Hunger’s Not” today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The event will be at the League City Public Safety Building located at 555 West Walker Street in League City. The free festival will feature children’s activities, food, a DJ, demonstrations by the LCPD K9 Unit and League City Volunteer Fire Department. In addition, public safety equipment will be on display.
