1. A southeast Houston home is the scene of an active investigation after a repairman found human remains in a barbeque pit in the backyard. Authorities were called to the 5200 block of Peach Creek Drive around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. (Fox 26)

2. The Houston Independent School District (HISD) is hosting a job fair on July 16 at 9 a.m. to hire new bus drivers. The first 120 candidates with a commercial driver's license who are hired and start before August 22 will receive a $2,000 sign-on stipend. (KHOU 11)

3. A shooting suspect who carjacked a man Wednesday in northeast Houston is still on the loose as of Wednesday afternoon, according to police. The incident happened at about 2 a.m. outside an apartment complex in the 5300 block of Coke Street. (ABC 13)

4. A local businesswoman and activist is taking action against R&B singer Chris Brown after she said he canceled his performance for a benefit concert called "One Night Only Benefit Concert" on March 19 in Houston, according to a release. The benefit was created to raise money for victims of Hurricane Ida and Nicholas in Houston and Louisiana. (Click2Houston)

5. Public hearings began on Wednesday as Houston City Council reviewed new redistricting maps. The city of Houston says proposed changes to Houston's City Council districts are relatively minor and simply account for population growth in the area. (Click2Houston)
