Man Charged With Sexual Assault After Missing Girls Return Home
Oscar Alvarenga, 25, is accused of having sex with one of the 12-year-old runaways he was harboring in his home, police said.

HOUSTON — A 25-year-old man was arrested on Friday for his role in the disappearance of two 12-year-old girls who were found safe after missing for two days. Oscar Alvarenga is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 and a misdemeanor charge of harboring a runaway, police said.
Investigators said the two girls ran away from home on Feb. 26, and went to Alvarenga’s apartment in the 8300 block of Wilcrest Drive, where he allowed them to stay until Friday.
Alvarenga allegedly left the girls at his apartment and went to help one of the family's search for the missing girls.

Alvarenga told police he got scared when he saw their photos on the news and brought the girls back home.
During questioning, Alvarenga allegedly confessed to having sex with one of the girls on at least two occasions. Bond was set for Alvarenga at $75,000.
