Man Flees After Running Over His Father At Houston YMCA

SPRING, TX — Police are still looking for the 24-year-old man who ran over his father during a fight outside a Spring area YMCA. Devon Amos has been on the run since he ran over his 42-year-old father on Saturday morning, police said.

According to investigators Devon Amos and his dad, Cedrick Amos, got into a physical fight outside the D. Bradley McWilliams YMCA on Cypresswood Drive at about 10:40 a.m.

During the fight, Cedrick Amos was knocked to the ground. Witnesses said Devon Amos for in his car and ran over his father, circled the parking lot, and ran over him a second time before fleeing the area.

Deputies found the car abandoned a few miles away at FM 1960 and State Highway 249, officials said.

Cedrick Amos was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover. Devon Amos is facing charges of aggravated assault, police said.
