Massive $51 Million Ranch For Sale North Of Houston

The KB Carter Ranch has a private airstrip and roughly 14 miles of Trinity River frontage.

OAKWOOD, TX —Nestled roughly mid-way between Dallas and Houston is a $51 million ranch that is the epitome of "Everything's bigger in Texas." The KB Carter Ranch sits on 15,000-acres in Oakwood and was founded in the late 1880s, according to real estate group Icon Global.

The property includes oil and gas rights, a family retreat, and roughly 14 miles of Trinity River frontage, Icon Global states on its website. The ranch has 3,500 head of cattle with a capacity for 10,000 stockers. It also features nearly 2,000 acres of crop farming, Icon Global said.

The ranch is owned by a trust benefiting Kay Carter Fortson and her husband, Ben, who serve as chairman and executive vice president, respectively, of the Kimball Art Foundation, Icon Global said.

"This is the first time this historic ranch has ever been offered to the market," Icon Global Group's founder, Bernard Uechtritz, said in a news release. "I am really very, very proud to personally represent such a family and important Texas legacy. KB Carter Ranch is both a rare find and rare offering. There are few ranches of this size remaining in North Central Texas today, and even fewer still that have been so well protected, well managed and are so productive."
