Missing Meyerland Man Was Victim Of Fatal Collision

Gordon Speer, who had been reported missing on May 5, was struck by car on May 4.

HOUSTON, TX — A Meyerland resident reported missing since May 5 has been identified as the victim of a car collision that occurred on May 4. Gordon Speer, 74, was walking along Runnymeade and West Bellfort when he was hit by a car. Speer died on the scene.

Police officials said Speer was in a crosswalk on West Bellfort — but walking against the light — when a man driving a Pontiac G6 stuck him. The driver of the car was questioned on the scene and released without charges, as reported by KRTK.

A medical examiner identified Speer after an investigation into the incident, which occurred around 6 p.m.

Speer had last been seen in the Meyerland area near Chimney Rock and South Braeswood.
