Pastor, Wife Shoot And Kill Armed Home Invader: Police Said

A pastor and his wife confront a man who'd kicked in their backdoor, and shot him to death inside their home, police said.

HOUSTON -- A pastor and his wife shot and killed an armed man who was breaking into the home in west Houston. The shooting was reported at about 11 p.m. Saturday in the 6100 block of Del Monte Street.

Police said the couple heard someone kicking in their back door, and grabbed their guns and went to investigate.

The couple told police they confronted the armed man inside their home and fired several times at him. He died at the scene.

Police said the home was a parsonage occupied by United Methodist Church Pastor Jeff Powers and his wife.

Charges are not expected to be filed.
