HOUSTON — A 16-year-old who was arrested recently for soliciting prostitution, made an outcry to police and helped put her alleged pimp behind bars, investigators said. Deputy constables arrested Steven Alanzo Greer, 25, on Friday and charged him with compelling prostitution and promotion of prostitution of a juvenile.

Harris County Pct. 1 deputy constables rescued the teen after she told them that Greer had spent two years trying to recruit her to work for him as a prostitute.

The victim told investigators that she met Greer when she was 13-years-old through a mutual friend, and he'd been trying to recruit her ever since, police said.

The girl told investigators that Greer controlled her by threatened her with violence, and claimed he forced her to have sex with several men in exchange for money over the course of several weeks.

Police said her information has to more cases where juveniles may also be the victims of sex trafficking.

“It took a lot of courage for this young person to come forward and ask us for help. We want her and other victims of sex trafficking to know that they are not alone and that we will continue to work tirelessly to see that pimps like this will be punished for their actions,” said Pct. 1 Constable Alan Rosen.

Greer was discovered in possession of 9.9 ounces what investigators believe is THC “wax” and may face additional charges as a result, police said.
