Sheriff's Real Time Crime Center Takes Active Role in Apprehension of Murder Suspect

The suspect has been taken into custody for a shooing on Oct. 3.

The suspect in the shooting of an Atascocita area woman, 55 year old Rogelio Romero Flores, was taken into custody with the support of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Real Time Crime Center.Flores called a family member on the morning of October 31, 2016, claiming to have shot his wife in their home located 10410 Fire Sage Drive in Harris County, Texas.

Flores fled the area taking their 12 year old son in his vehicle. Analayst with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Real Time Crime Center utilized the unit’s advanced resources to immediately disseminate the suspect’s identity, photo, license plate and vehicle information numbers amongst the Greater Houston Law Enforcement Analysts group.

Flores was subsequently taken into custody in Victoria, and awaits extradition to Harris County.Sheriff Ron Hickman established the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Real Time Crime Center in February of 2016. Since taking office in 2015, Sheriff Hickman has committed the HCSO to expanding its technological footprint, and leveraging regional communication. The Real Time Crime Center, housed in the Houston TranStar building, is a state of the art communications and monitoring center that assists officers in the field with enhanced situational awareness during active events.For full details, view this message on the web.
