Shots Fired Outside Houston Can Academy Campus

Investigators believe a shooting outside Houston Can Academy Tuesday morning was part of a family dispute.

HOUSTON — Houston Police are looking for a man who shot at another man outside of the Houston Can Academy Campus. The shooting happend at abouty 8:30 a.m. as children were being dropped off at the campus.

Houston Police Commander Tinsley Guinn-Shaver said a m an and his girlfriend pulled up to drop off their child. While they were in front of the campus, Guinn-Shaver said they encountered the girlfriend’s family.

“The boyfriend saw her family and decided he was going to let her [the girlfriend] out of the car,” Guinn-Shaver said.

The two men argued and that’s when the girl’s boyfriend pulled a gun and shot at her brother. No one as injured, and the man and his girlfriend fled the area in a black BMW, police said.

Guinn-Shaver said they have identified the shooter and expect to file charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against the man later today.
