Sugar Land Mixed Use Development for Old Sugar Refinery Moving Ahead
The Sugar Land realtor behind the long-gestating mixed use development in the Imperial Sugar refinery announced a sale.

Sugar Land, TX -- Johnson Development Corp. announcedthe sale of 26-acres to Imperial Market, LLC. the company behind the on-going redevelopment of the former Imperial Sugar refinery.
The redevelopment project, dubbed Imperial Market, is going to turn the sprawling facility into mixed-use development that will feature 850,000-square feet of retail space, 90,000-square feet of office space and a 174-room boutique hotel.
The development has already attracted tenants, including the Alamo Drafthouse cinema chain -- which plans to open a nine-screen movie theater in the center. The project will also feature a 274 unit, luxury multi-family residential housing complex and a children's museum.
