Tractor Trailer Hits I45 Overpass at Cottage Street, Halting Southbound Traffic

HOUSTON, TX — A tractor trailer struck an overpass near Cottage Street early this morning, and traffic on I45 leading into downtown was stalled for more than three hours during morning rush hour, according to Houston transit officials. No injuries were reported, but two lanes on the southbound side of the interstate – plus the right shoulder — were blocked.

Authorities reported that the truck was removed from the scene at around 8:43 this morning, but that traffic was still moving at a crawl. Alternate routes are recommended. Stay tuned for updates.
