HISD Cancels Classes Monday For Threat Of Inclement Weather
Classes most likely to resume Tuesday, but district will make decision by noon Sunday

HOUSTON, TX β All Houston ISD campuses and administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Aug. 28 and all campus and district activities are canceled due to the threat of inclement weather from Tropical Storm Harvey, which is expected to strengthen into a Category 3 hurricane by landfall Friday night.
Classes are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, Aug. 29. However, the district will continue to monitor developing weather conditions and will determine whether classes can safely resume on Tuesday. The district will make that decision by noon on Sunday, Aug. 27.
Earlier today the district announced all activities after 2 p.m. Friday would be cancelled through the weekend.

The National Weather Service predicts the storm to dump massive amounts of rain, with possibly 10-15 inches in Houston. Take precaution if you live in a low-lying area.
