Update: Victor Chavez, Houston Man Missing Since Late February, Was Found Safe

Chavez, who suffers from Alzheimer's, was located on March 8 and given medical care.

Updated March 13: Texas EquuSearch said that Victor Chavez, who had been missing since February 25, was found safe on March 8. He was given medical care last week. The organization offered no further details in its announcement.

A call to Texas EquuSearch was not immediately returned.

HOUSTON, TX — The Houston Police Department is searching for an elderly man who was last seen in Houston on February 25.

Victor Chavez, who has trouble walking, suffers from Alzheimer's disease and high blood pressure, according to EquuSearch's Frank Black.

Chavez, who is 78, has a scar on his right thigh that is 3 to 5 inches in length and often stumbles, the result of a broken hip.

He was last seen wearing a black cowboy hat, a navy blue long-sleeved shirt, black pants, and black tennis shoes.
