HOUSTON, TX — Police officials are searching for a 22-year-old man they say killed a dog belonging to his family.

Hector Ramos is accused of stabbing the dog to death with a machete on Jan. 28 in the front yard of his family's home following an argument with his mother.

"This was a particularly painful and tortuous way for the dog to die," prosecutor John Crump told WABC. "Mr. Ramos is currently charged with an offense that has a punishment range between two years and 10 years in prison and up to $10,000 fine."
