Police Arrest Armed Man Who Barricaded Inside Home Near Heights
While trying to serve a warrant, an armed man barricaded himself inside, creating a standoff. Police took him into custody late this morning

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police have taken a man into custody who barricaded himself inside a Northwest Houston home near the Heights Thursday morning. An armed male suspect barricaded himself inside a home in the 4300 block of De Milo Drive following officers' attempt to serve a warrant.
Police later announced they had taken the man into custody.
Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said the scene and subsequent custody ended safely.

"Proud of all involved from North Patrol & Warrant Teams, to dispatch, to Tac Docs, to HNT, & to our community that does not hesitate to let us know about public safety issues in neighborhoods," Acevedo Tweeted shortly after noon Thursday.
