Treadsack Restaurant Group's Woes Continue

Houston Press story documents IRS liens, bounced checks, and a nanny on the corporate payroll

It was a story that seemed too good to be true: A group of young and seemingly bright restaurateurs take Houston by storm, expanding rapidly and wowing people far and wide. The crowds came, publications swooned, and an empire was born.

Too good to be true it was, however, and Craig Malisow of the Houston Press has put together a great read on the unfolding story of Chris Cusack and his colleagues at the Treadsack restaurant group.

It's a tale of a Tesla, the Texas Comptroller's Office, divorce, and sundry other mishaps and possible misdeeds. As Malisow writes, "Cusack also addressed one of the issues that appears to have upset many employees who couldn't cash their checks: the dude bought a freakin' Tesla."
