UIL Realigns High School Districts
The biennial realignment Thursday morning gives a new look for high school football, volleyball and basketball districts in the state.

HOUSTON, TX — The Houston ISD football basketball district involving Bellaire, Heights, Lamar, Chavez, Westside, Westbury and the MST campus look relatively the same after the University Interscholastic League unveiled its biennial realignment Thursday morning. The rest of the Houston region has a whole new look, though.
District 18-6A with the aforementioned schools get one new team in the mix for the next two years, and that's the Mickey Leland College Prep Academy, which will play football and boys basketball in District 18 as well.

Young Womens College Prep Academy
Four Houston schools in Class 6A — Memorial, Northbrook, Spring Woods and Stratford — have been placed in District 17 with Cy-Fair, Cy Creek, Cy Ridge, Cypress Falls and Jersey Village.

The UIL this cycle split Class 5A football districts into Divisions I and II, bigger schools and small schools, respectively, before the season starts. The UIL has done this the previous two realignment cycles with Class 4A and below.
