Weekend Shootings Roundup: 2 Fatalities Reported

HOUSTON, TX — Houston police reported two shootings over the weekend, both resulting in death. A 33-year-old man was shot and killed outside a bar early Saturday morning and a 42-year-old man was found shot dead inside his car at an apartment complex. Police are looking for suspects in both cases.

Man Shot Outside Sally's Sports Bar
Two groups of males got into a shooting match against each other at Sally's Sports Bar, located at 8724 Fulton Street in North Houston near Northline and Independence Heights. HPD officers responded to a shooting at the bar between the two groups for unknown reasons around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, March 31.

The front passenger of a Chevrolet Impala, Israel Sanchez, 33, was struck and died at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was hit in the arm and taken to the hospital. At this time, there are no known suspects.

Man Shot Multiple Times, Dies In His Car
HPD responded to a shooting call at Vanderbilt Court Apartment complex, located at 12630 Ashford Point Drive in West Houston, around 1:40 a.m. Sunday. A thorough search led to no victims, witnesses or suspects. Then at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, a passerby found Leroy Ellis, 42, dead inside his vehicle. HPD reports that Ellis died from multiple gunshot wounds.
