Women’s Quarter Marathon Celebrates International Women’s Day
Hosted by Houston Running Company, this event is open to women of all ages, and the men that support them!

The 8th annual and highly empowering Women’s Quarter Marathon, presented by Houston Running Company (HRC), celebrates the support, strength and community that women create - not only in the Houston area - but all around the world! In honor of International Women’s Day, celebrated Saturday March 8, this two-day event starts on this date with a Women’s Market, showcasing women-owned businesses and local artists. Then on Sunday, March 9, participants can lace up their shoes and participate in one of three events, including the 6.22-mile quarter marathon, a 5K run/walk, or the Mini Quarter (1k) for the “littler” runners and walkers. Event proceeds will benefit The Mission of Yahweh, an organization that provides safe shelter, resources and long-term support to help women who are rebuilding their lives, and to help those with children, providing them with a secure and loving environment.
“This event honors women and encourages them to unite together to push beyond themselves – and chase their dreams!” said Randi Schooley, HRC co-founder. “And while this is most certainly an event focused on honoring strong women, we also invite strong men (husbands, brothers, sons, partners and others) who support them, to join us as well!”
The Women’s Market on March 8 is from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Karback Brewing Company (Karbach) and will provide attendees with the opportunity to network with one another and support local women-owned businesses, along with local artists. There will also be a live DJ, and a special cranberry sour brewed to celebrate the occasion.

On March 9, back at Karbach in the outdoor space, the Women’s Quarter Marathon starts at 7:30 a.m., the 5K run/walk follows at 7:45 a.m. and the Mini-Quarter (1K) for children - designed to inspire and encourage the next generation of strong women - kicks off at 9:30 a.m. For those unable to attend in person, virtual events are available for both the Quarter Marathon and the 5K. All participants (in person or virtual) receive a t-shirt and finisher’s medal with registration.
Awards will be given immediately after the race to the top three overall female finishers and the top three overall female masters. Age group awards will be mailed out after the event. Parking is free and available at both Karbach Brewing Company and Delmar Stadium.

“We look forward to seeing everyone, to share our joint achievements, while we celebrate and encourage one another. The Women’s Quarter Marathon is more than just a race - it’s a movement that reinforces we are all better, together!” Schooley said.
