Teen Driver Charged In DWI Crash That Killed 2 Girls
A 17-year-old Atascocita High School student is facing intoxication manslaughter charges after the crash that killed two friends.

ATASCOCITA, TX β Two teenage girls are dead after a savage crash that split in half the car they were riding in. Police have charged the driver of the car, a 17-year-old high school student, with two counts of intoxication manslaughter after the crash, investigators said.
The drivers and two girls were close friends, according to police.
Harris County Sheriffβs deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash in the 18300 block of Timber Forest about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. Witnesses told police that the driver, Jaggar Clayton Smith , 17, was speeding when he lost control and hit several trees, according to investigators.

The crash split the car in half and killed 16-year-old Chloe Robison, who was in the back passenger seat, KPRC reported. Salma Gomez, 16, who was in the front passenger seat, was flown by helicopter to a hospital with critical injuries. She later died.

Investigators said Smith was drinking before the crash and suffered only minor injuries. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
