Baseball caps, shorts approved for Houston police officers

Houston Police Department Kingwood Division’s Sgt. J. W. Pavlu concluded a routine crime report to the Kingwood Service Association Public Safety Committee at its March 8 meeting with a surprising announcement.

“You might be wondering why I am wearing a baseball cap. New changes have come to HPD from our chief [Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo] and so I wore this on purpose. This is approved for us to wear. You will see officers out there wearing a blue baseball cap,” he said.
