Constables Bust Cockfighting Ring In Northeast Houston
Officials arrested Armando Banderas Delgado who has been charged with cockfighting. Six others were detained and issued citations.

HOUSTON — A tip to police about a cockfighting operation led to the arrest of a 76-year-old man, and seizure of more than 300 roosters from an east Houston home.
Harris County Pct. 1 deputy constables raided a home in the 4300 blk. of Mooney Rd. on Sunday morning after they acted on a tip from a concerned citizen, officials said.
Officials arrested Armando Banderas Delgado who has been charged with cockfighting. Six others were detained and issued citations for being spectators at the cockfight.

More than 50 people who were there at the home ran off when deputies arrived, officials said.
Officials from Houston SPCA seized more than 300 roosters, hens, chicks and 176 eggs. Deputies also dozens of gaffs —blades which are attached to the roosters during these fights and used as weapons.
