CROSBY, TX — Law enforcement officers lifted a lock down at all three campuses at Crosby ISD after district officials received an email threat Thursday afternoon. District officials received an all clear from police at about 3 p.m.

District officials announced on their Facebook page that the central office had received an email of a potential nonspecific threat to the high school stadium, and the campuses.

Out of an abundance of caution, district officials locked the campuses down, which means no one is allowed to leave or enter the campus until law enforcement officials signaled that the sweep was completed.

Police began a sweep of all the campuses at about 1 p.m. Once the campuses and the areas around the schools were cleared, students and staff were allowed to leave.

This is the second threat received at a Houston area school in only a few hours. Students at Goose Creek Memorial High School were locked after the district received an online threat to the campus. Police took the student into custody and lifted the lockout at about 10 a.m. charges are pending against that student, who was not identified.

The incident is under investigation.
