Homeowner Shoots Burglar Breaking Into His Home
A homeowner was forced to defend his home when two men broke in to his house Wednesday morning.

HOUSTON, TX -- A homeowner in northeast Houston is being questioned after he shot at two burglars breaking into his home, wounding one of the suspects, police said. The shooting happened just before 5 a.m., in the 1400 block of Pearl Street.
The homeowner told police he was awakened the sound of someone breaking into this home, and grabbed his gun.

According to police, the homeowner confronted two men in his home and fired his gun once, hitting one of the met in the leg.

The men ran from from the home dropping some of the items stolen from the home along the way. The wounded suspect hobbled across the street and fell in a ditch, but the other burglar managed to escape, police said.
The wounded suspect was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and is expected to survive.
