Three elementary schools, including The Groves, were built, and money remains to build one more. A new middle school in The Groves will open in 2018, and the Adaptive Sports Complex was built, partially with district funding as well as other community funding.
The district also purchased land for eight schools, including 155 acres for a new high school should it be needed in the future. Brown also discussed the construction of the new district police station and stated that the new facility served as a crucial emergency center during Hurricane Harvey.
