Humble ISD Celebrates 100th Birthday This Weekend
The celebration takes place at at Turner Stadium, located 1700 Wilson Road, Humble, on Saturday at 5 p.m.

HUMBLE, TX — Humble ISD is celebrating the district 100th birthday and the community is invited to come out and have a load of fun.
It all starts at 5 p.,m. Saturday, at Turner Stadium, located 1700 Wilson Road, Humble. The free program, entitled “Humble ISD: 100 Years in the Making,” features speakers, historical information, musical performances and fireworks.
Pastor Joel Osteen, who leads Lakewood Church and is the author of 11 national bestselling books, will share memories of growing up in Humble ISD.

A 1981 graduate of Humble High School, Osteen’s weekly televised services attract more than 10 million viewers in the United States plus millions more in 100 nations around the world.
Musical entertainment will be provided by Gary Kyle and The Kin. Kyle graduated from Kingwood High School in 1995.

His career has allowed him the opportunity to share the musical stage with country music legends Tanya Tucker and John Michael Montgomery. On Feb.16, Humble ISD students will join Gary Kyle and The Kin in special performances.
The evening will conclude with a fireworks show. Admission and parking are free. Seating will be first come, first served. There are no tickets.
No concessions will be sold at the event. Gates open at 4 p.m. The evening is made possible by sponsors Gulf Coast Educators Federal Credit Union, Balfour Dilly Letter Jackets, and the Humble ISD Education Foundation.
On Feb. 18, 1919, the Texas Legislature created Humble ISD. Prior to the existence of Humble ISD, students were educated by Harris County Common School Districts No. 28, 35 and 50. There were 1,425 students in Humble ISD during the 1918-1919 school year. This year, Humble ISD serves more than 43,500 students. The district has been celebrating its Centennial throughout the 2018-2019 school year with a variety of events. Extensive historical information can be found at www.humbleisd.net/history.
