Humble-Kingwood Area Looking at Major Growth
The Humble-Kingwood area is expected to experience major growth over the next 10 years.
Humble, TX -- With 50 new subdivisions in some form of development the Humble-Kingwood area is about to get much more populated. A new study by Humble ISD found that more than 12,000 new homes will be constructed by 2025.
The growth is expected to add another 30,000 people to the area's population, bringing it to more than 288,000 by the 2020 census. Humble ISD is also expecting massive growth over the next 5-10 years.
To ease the pressure of adding an estimated more than 1,000 students per year, the district has plans to spend more than $150 million to build six new schools -- including a new high school.
