Humble School District thanks its board, 'The Best in Texas'
The Humble ISD Board of Trustees was honored by students and staff from throughout the district as part of Texas’ annual School Board Recognition Month at the Jan. 15 monthly board meeting. This year it was about a lot more than just routine recognition. It was about celebrating the district’s board for being named the Outstanding School Board of the Year at the 2018 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards. With more than 1,000 school boards in Texas, there was much to recognize. School District Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen summed it all up when she said, “School board members are volunteers. They donate hundreds of hours to attend meetings, consider issues, set policies and participate in student and community events. Tonight’s ‘Inspiring Moments’ video showcases the variety of experiences benefiting students under the leadership and support of our state award-winning school board.”
